- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese (mixed)
- 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup bell peppers (chopped, any color)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Sauté diced onion and minced garlic in a skillet until translucent.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, bell peppers, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
- Layer half of the meat mixture in the baking dish. Top with half of the cheese. Add remaining meat mixture and finish with the rest of the cheese.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
