Instructions

  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugars until light and fluffy (3–5 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in red food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  6. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Use a cookie scoop to drop dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are set but centers are soft. Cool on wire racks before frosting.
