Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir gently until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
- Drop dough balls onto parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
