Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • ½ cup sour cream (for serving)
  • ½ cup canola oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef or turkey until fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes).
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and water as per package instructions; simmer until thickened (3-4 minutes).
  3. Lay out a tortilla, spoon some meat mixture on one side, and sprinkle with cheese. Roll tightly like a burrito.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry each rolled taco stick until golden brown on all sides (approximately 2-3 minutes per side).
  5. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil and keep warm in a low oven.
  6. Cut into bite-sized pieces and serve with sour cream.
