- 12 oz beef tortellini
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat; add ground beef and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Cook tortellini in salted boiling water according to package instructions; drain.
- In the baking dish, layer half of the tortellini followed by half of the meat sauce and half of both cheeses. Repeat.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
