  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until combined.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Toss apple slices with lemon juice (optional) and additional cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  5. Layer half of the oat mixture in the baking dish, followed by the sliced apples, then top with remaining oat mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let cool slightly before slicing.
