- 1 cup tortilla strips (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions
- Prep your ingredients by chopping the onions and mincing the garlic.
- In a large pot over medium heat, heat 2 tbsp olive oil. Add chopped onions and sauté until softened and golden brown.
- Stir in minced garlic, cumin, and chili powder; cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Add the vegetable broth, rinsed lentils, and diced tomatoes to the pot. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat to low, partially cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes or until lentils are tender but not mushy.
- Stir in lime juice and chopped cilantro just before serving. Adjust seasoning to taste.
