  • 4 large bell peppers (any color)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium sweet onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice each bell pepper in half lengthwise and remove seeds. Place cut side up in a baking dish.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Add diced onions and cook until translucent.
  4. Stir in mushrooms and garlic; sauté until mushrooms soften.
  5. Mix in Worcestershire sauce and Italian seasoning; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Fill each pepper half generously with the beef mixture and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
